CROSS STITCH - Above the table in the narthex hangs a cross stitch. One of Joy's charter members, Ellyn Maxwell, made it. It served as the first fair linen used on Joy's altar for the years the congregation gathered for worship at the Cullins Lake Pointe Elementary School in Rowlett. Incidentally the table above which it hangs was Joy's first altar also used during the Cullins Lake Pointe School time. It came to Joy as a gift from Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Garland. Word is that Gloria Dei's first pastor, Dewey Johnson, made it. Joy's congregational charter which did hang above the old altar is now displayed on the stairway wall in the narthex.
