Thank you for serving as a greeter!

1. Please be at your post no later than 20 minutes before the scheduled start time.

2. Check the table in narthex:

• Is the guest book open to the proper page?
• Insert the date in the guest book, please.
• Are name tags available?
• Do the pens work?

3. Are the glass doors open—both of them?

4. Watch for people approaching.

• Open the door for them.

5. Most worshipers want to be noticed but not spotlighted. Smiling, greeting and welcoming, shaking hands, introducing yourself and asking each person’s name is noticing them.

5. Ask everyone to use a name tag.

6. Ask visitors to sign the guest book.

7. Be prepared to share information and provide service:

• Umbrellas may be left in the entrance area.
• The worship area is through the wooden double doors to the left.
• Bathrooms are at the east of the narthex.
• The nursery is upstairs—to the left at the top of the stairs.
• The parish hall is on the south side of the building—to the right from the entrance.

Remember that both visitors and members appreciate being welcomed!!!
