years ago, the Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple
prayer from a single youth group.
"Lord, as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us
to be mindful of those without even a bowl of soup to eat."
Since that day, more than $81 million has been raised for
local charities
across the
country
through the Souper Bowl of Caring. It has helped transform
the time around Super Bowl into a celebration of giving and
serving.
Joy Youth working with other volunteers have planned a
Souper Bowl of Caring lunch for Sunday, February
5.
After that morning's worship, soup,
beverages and desserts will be served in the parish hall.
